Lion quickly put him in the studio with a first-rate hard bop band — Hank Mobley on tenor saxophone, Wynton Kelly on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Art Taylor on drums. The resulting album, Star Bright, is a hidden gem of the Blue Note catalog, with Reece shining on bluesy originals like "The Rake," "Groovesville," and the Monk-inspired "A Variation on Monk," plus swinging takes on the standards "I'll Close My Eyes" and "I Wished on the Moon." This Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes.

Features

180g black vinyl

Stereo, all-analog pressing

Blue Note Classic Vinyl Reissue Series

Mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes

Manufactured at Optimal in Germany

Label: Blue Note

Track Listing

Side One:

The Rake

I'll Close My Eyes

Groovesville

Side Two:

The Rebound

I Wished on the Moon

A Variation on Monk

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0981/2538/2002/files/dizzy-reece---star-bright---blue-note-classic-series-lp_1.jpg?v=1793693976
